The Union Power Charitable Foundation (UPCF) proudly marked a major milestone in November with the resounding success of its inaugural Clays for a Cause clay shoot fundraiser. This event brought together community members, supporters, Union Power vendors, and everyday outdoor enthusiasts for a day of friendly competition and charitable purpose.
Hosted at Four Branches Shooting Preserve in Polkton, NC, the event drew an impressive turnout of 80 shooters and raised over $68,000 for UPCF. Shooters of all experience levels participated, forming teams and navigating a course designed to test skill, focus, and teamwork. The atmosphere blended excitement with camaraderie as participants encouraged one another, shared tips, and celebrated each broken clay.
Beyond the shooting stations, guests enjoyed a full lineup of activities, including raffles, a silent auction, and a post-event awards ceremony recognizing top shooting teams, our top shooter, and even those who preserved the most clays. Volunteers played a vital role in the event’s smooth execution, and local sponsors supported it to help make the event an astounding success.
Clays for a Cause not only exceeded expectations in attendance but also in fundraising impact. Thanks to the generosity of participants and sponsors, the event raised critical funds to support UPCF’s mission of providing financial assistance to local nonprofit organizations helping people in our communities. These contributions will directly benefit programs that serve a wide range of organizations in need, expanding UPCF’s ability to create meaningful change in our communities.
“This event surpassed anything we could have hoped for in its first year,” said Jeremy Black, UPCF fundraising committee chair. “The enthusiasm and support we received shows just how strongly people believe in our mission. We’re excited to make this an annual tradition.”
As the organization reflects on its successful launch, plans are already underway for next year’s clay shoot. With the momentum of a strong first event, UPCF looks forward to growing participation, building new partnerships, and continuing to offer unique and engaging ways for supporters to get involved.
